What you might get if the White Stripes, the Violent Femmes, and Phil Spector collaborated on a Quentin Tarantino soundtrack.
Bio / Background
The Bosch, a fearsome four-piece rock outfit from New York City, have just finished recording their 9-song EP "Buy One Get One" with rising star producer Duane Lundy in Lexington, Kentucky. This fall, the album hits college and specialty radio, and national press, in a campaign coordinated by Jeffrey Smith's Crash Avenue Entertainment.
The Bosch boasts a powerful sound that energetically draws from several rock and roll styles. "Buy One, Get One" sounds like what you might get if The White Stripes, The Violent Femmes, and Phil Spector recorded the soundtrack to a Quentin Tarantino movie.
Combined with touring that is taking them throughout the Northeast and South, The Bosch are confident that this fall will find them within striking distance of ultimate rock star fantasy: a bright and dynamic future filled with champagne, cocaine, and the chance to hunt whales in a hovercraft.
The Bosch have been playing out in New York City and environs for two years.
↓ more ↓Their shows are intensely entertaining: the Columbia Daily Spectator termed one of their shows at Luna Lounge "a blast of auditory and visual brilliance."
Their previous album earned airplay on nearly 300 radio stations in the fall of 2004, and earned glowing reviews; Skratch Magazine called the band "unsigned gold."
The Bosch's origins are America's preeminent Williamsburgs. In Williamsburg, Virginia, drummer Holt and guitarist Matt met in their tedious years at a white-bread private school. Having developed a telepathic musical rapport, they headed to the other Williamsburg, in Brooklyn, where they were joined by the illustrious bassist Brett and multitalented keyboardist/saxophonist Andrew. Vocals are primarily Matt's job, joined by Holt and Brett.
