Bio / Background

The band BLUE ON GREEN recorded this over the course of two years. The tunes reflect the arrangements performed live in nightclubs around the San Francisco Bay Area during the years 2004-2005. Featured are the flute performances of Peggy Johnston. She brought in an old Irish tune found on a Chieften's recording. Not having heard the tune before, Rob arranged chord changes around the melody, thereby giving the tune a unique BLUE ON GREEN feel and sound. True to the band's sound, the flute is contrasted with Rob's electric lead guitar. Similar to previous Rob Wullenjohn directed recordings, this CD contains a mix of music styles. However, this recording contains a latin, a funk, and jamaican tunes in addition to the mix of Celtic / Irish tunes. Enjoy
