Expanded from the original rock trio into a four piece rock band, the narrative style of songwriting is the same, as is the 'downtown' style of improvisation provided by guitarist Jameson Swanagon.
Bio / Background
'Bill Collector', our second effort, is very much a 'studio' album, especially in contrast to our first release 'Picking Up Your Pieces'.
Drummer Josh Barnhart and myself recorded the acoustic guitar, vocals and drums at Expressions College in Emeryville, California back in April 2006. We then sent the bundled pro tools files out to Guitarist Jameson Swanagon and Bassist Giacomo Merega in Boston, Mass. They spend about three months working on their parts, with Jameson in charge of most of the arrangements. The results of this effort, as you can hear, are exceptional.
After all the tracking was completed, the tunes were sent back to California, where they were nicely mixed by Jeff Jamieson,a good friend, and competent amateur engineer. Rick Sutton mastered the finished product in San Luis Obispo, CA.
