Bio / Background
Blanche is a 22 year old senior at Harding University, Searcy, Arkansas. She is majoring in Social Work and plans to graduate in May. She grew up in rural Jackson County, Arkansas, in a small community known as Pennington.
Music has been a part of Blanche's life for as long as she can remember. She began singing at the age of two and was involved in music during her grade school years at Grubbs and her high school years at Weiner. She likes to sing songs that tug at the heart strings. Her early musical influences were: Elvis, Tina Turner, and Carole King. She now adds Lee Ann Womack, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, James Taylor, Martina McBride and Alison Kraus to her list.
"MUSIC HIGHWAY" is Blanche's first attempt at writing song lyrics and creating melodies. She co-wrote all 12 songs on this album with her mom and uncle. This all came about when she was selected to be in a contest in Nashville and she needed an original song.
