In April 2000, The vocal trio was invited to appear live on Garrison Keillor's Public Radio show, A Prairie Home Companion. They were one of six finalists in the "Talent from Towns Under Two Thousand" contest.
In December 1998, The Local Girls performed The NEW Birthday Song (Your Trip Around the Sun) at The White House.
