Stripped-down smart pop - from moody to funky and back again.
Bio / Background
This four-song EP represents the broad stylistic approach that Birds Anonymous features in their live show. Recorded "live" in August in the Laundry Room Recording Studios with help from Rob Coye.
Special thanks to the sheet bin for all of its muffling, cushioning, and supportive properties and to Brand O and Cheddar for staying out of the way.
Birds Anonymous is a band from Syracuse, NY consisting of Joe Plessas on guitar and lead vocal, John Plessas on bass guitar, and Stefanie Noble on drums. Yes, Joe and John are brothers and yes, Stef and Joe are married. John is also married, but not to anyone in the band. Sorry ladies!
Birds Anonymous plays mostly originals written by Joe - songs that might remind you a bit of Talking Heads, U2, The Police, XTC and all those other mega-bands, but amazingly, these are not mega-band songs, but the work of a mild-mannered fellow from Central New York.
↓ more ↓You might remember Joe from The Bedouins - you know, the Syracuse band from the early 90s with the horn player? Joe was the long haired lead singer and also currently plays with The Phantom Pilots. John has played with many local bands throughout the years, most recently joining The Quartet Trio onstage at a number of their recent shows. Stef is the ingenue of the group.
