Big Meteor is a solo project by Canadian David Wimble, the editor of The Indie Bible, a popular resource for independent musicians. Wild River is a generous collection of old school rock & roll with country/western inflections. The guitar work, led by Larry Wayne Church's tasty leads, is solid throughout. The best tracks are the more straight-on country rock tunes like "To Whom I Must Confess" and "The Waitress," where Wimble's vocals recall those of Jimmy Dale Gilmore. Although some of the songs run out of steam before finishing and there are few novelties, Wild River is a solid slate of authentic rock and country music. ~ Jim Esch, All Music Guide
