Bio / Background
I originally recorded this music for a yoga asana cd. The result was so pleasant that I decided to make a stand-alone recording. The idea of this cd was not to showcase the drumming ability of the player; instead' I aimed to make a recording that would support a meditative mood. To this end, I tried to make the performance a meditation. I hope you find this cd useful in your practice.
The Hang Drum is a steel percussion instrument. It sits on the player's lap and is played with the hands. Eight notes are tuned harmonically around a central deep note. The drum used on this recording is tuned to a five note Japanese scale: Banshiki-Cho
