Bio / Background
I was born into a musical family. My dad was the quintessential honky tonk hero and my mother sang in a southern gospel trio. Skip the details of how my righteous mother ended up in in a honky tonk on the south side of Chicago and let's just say they met, fell in love and here I am. So with my music I can damn you to hell or save your soul - depending on the weather.
I'm not ashamed to say that Daddy worked the coal mines of eastern Kentucky. So yes, I was born a coal miner's daughter. And being wedged up between 2 mountains where we lived, we didn't have much in the way of entertainment. We received exactly 3 TV channels (in good weather) and a couple local radio stations. So it wasn't nothing strange to load up the guitars and go somewhere like Cecil Burkhart's on Friday evening (Cecil could play the heck out of anything with strings) and we might sing till well after midnight.
↓ more ↓And God have mercy, when Daddy got his hands on an old reel-to-reel recorder, we were a regular RCA™ studio right in the living room floor!
I didn't wake up one day and discover I wanted to sing. It's something I have literally been doing all my life. Traveling some bumpy roads, taking detours, and crashing a time or two has given me experiences and emotions to draw upon - so I'm thrilled to finally be writing some of my own material. Shedding the naivety of my 20's, coming into my own, and discovering a side of myself I never knew, I've got something genuine and real to share with you... hope you enjoy!

Special thanks to Lexington's own Soul Patch for lending us the harmonica stylings of Carl Hatmaker throughout the project. Don't miss the opportunity to check them out live at the many venues across the Bluegrass where great rock and blues collide!
