Bio / Background
Singer/ songwriter/ guitarist Dan Becker has been playing in the Chicago area for over 25 years. Dan has played in Rock, Folk Rock, country, blues, jazz and R&B bands. His guitar styles draw on Eric Clapton, Mark Knoffler, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Johnson, and Mike Stern.
Dan’s solo acoustic sets include songs from his CD mixed with traditional fiddle tunes played on guitar.
His current band, the Tourists, mixes elements of Rock, Folk, Jazz, Blues, and Jams. The current CD “We’re Not From Around Here, We’re Just Tourists” has drawn comparisons to Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Little Feat, the Beatles, Steely Dan, The Band, The Allman Brothers, and Jimi Hendrix.
The Tourists are professional musicians who have been playing with Dan Becker over the years. Each brings his or her unique personality and energy to the to songs in live performances and on “We’re Not From Around Here, We’re Just Tourists” CD.
