Bio / Background
Bare Common's musical influences are wide-ranging and embrace the genres of folk, pop, rock and singer-songwriters. Vocals and lyrics are front and center in our songs and guitars are close behind. Bare Common is all about the craft and art of the song, whether it's a simple guitar and vocal duo or fully produced work. Many listners comment that our close harmonies remind them of Simon and Garfunkel.
Bare Common lives and works in Duluth, MN, USA, on the western tip of Lake Superior, which is a regular source of awe and inspiration for us. Our name, taken from Ralph Waldo Emerson's essay "Nature," describes a seemingly empty place and time when the ecstasy of existence strikes.
