Atlas Soul live performances are hypnotique and often get the audience in a dacing trance! They have played venues like the Montreal Jazz Festival, The Kennedy Center, The Louisiana International Music Festival, The Houston International Festival, The Musikfest, The FNX/Boston Phoenix Jazz Series at the Hatch Shell, The Festival international Nuits d’Afrique (Montreal) The Boston Globe Jazz Festival, The Steppin’Out Festival, MASS MoCA , Les Francofolies de Montreal, and many more…They have been booked on the same bill and shared the stage with international artist such as Lady Smith Black Mombazo, Thomas Mapfumo, Gigi, Alpha Blondy, Hassan Hakmoun, Baba Maal and Cheb Nasro to name just a few.
“What hits hardest about Atlas Soul’s sound is the natural funk of North African music and also powerful vocals, which span fluid, passionate Gnawa melodies and husky Raï hooks. There is great wisdom in a world-music outfit that embraces divergent genres (but not so many that the sound loses its identity)" writes world music journalist Banning Eyre.
Winners of the Independent Music Awards 2004 in the World category (www.musiciansatlas.com), Atlas Soul incorporates many genres: Raï, Funk, Shaabi, Jazz, Afrobeat, Jungle, Socca, Reggae, Gnawa & Samba. "It might sound a bit ambitious but it comes to us very naturally," Jacques Pardo, leader of the band explains.
Atlas Soul sings in Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic, Hebrew and English, making it not only a truly World Music band, but probably one of the only group of this kind currently residing in the United States of America. The lyrics speak of love, natural wonders, oppression, poverty, and of the melancholy of immigrants longing for their homelands. Their motto is world-music-for-world-peace.
Philosophically and politically, Atlas Soul hopes to inspire world peace through a fusion of music and culture that gets people to the dance floor.

Hello and greetings, Jacques from Atlas Soul here.
We are very exited for having two of the songs from “MABROUKA” featured in two different compilations from Global Rhythm magazine.
Mabrouka means: Blessings and/or Lucky Charm and/or Incantations!
Here is some background about the music and the songs:
L’amour en banlieue (love in the suburbs)
This is French hip-pop with a twist!
It's an urban and suburban (banlieue) love story. Check out the French rap (if you speak French) lyrics written by the talented Johann Sarton aka 95Star.
Performed by Jacques Pardo and Nadwa Al Rifai. Nadwa wrote the Arabic lyrics as well.
Sole (Sun)
This song is a 6/8 groove in a Shaabi-Jazz style but in Italian!!!
Lyrics and performed by Angela Rossi.
This song is about the emigrants and emigration…but in a poetic way…
Passa La Vida
This one is a funky nicely spiced Salsa…
Lyrics and performed by Alan Perez
This song is about love and the flow of life…
Quiereme y Veras
This is a love song that feature acoustic guitar, oud, bari sax, trombone on a touching Latin ballad melody…
Lyrics and performed by Alan Perez
Angelomio
This is a combination of a Ballad and a Drum & Bass groove.
