Indie keyboard pop with cutting, yet wistful vocals. Electronic ambience flirts with well-crafted synth melodies and interlocking drum rhtyhms. The end result is a new breed of pop distortion with substance.
Bio / Background
Aster uses a simple pop-oriented approach to songwriting layered with lush piano, overdriven synthesizers, and ambient sounds that reach to the heavens above. Raspy and pristine vocal melodies combine with driving rhythms, deep guitar tones, and a wall of sound from the keys to produce a truly captivating sonic experience. The end result of this diverse montage of sound is a new breed of pop distortion, but with substance. It's all about writing innovative music that still creates feelings people can relate to. Using traditional logic, they searched for additional members to complete a "live lineup" for almost six months. Somewhere along the way they realized it was possible to remain a two-piece and still crank out as much, if not more, sound than any other live band. Using a standard issue pair of headphones and a synthesis of bass and guitar amplifiers, their sound becomes truly distinct and simultaneously addicting.
