"BEYOND THE VOICE OF REASON"
NEW RECORD COMING AUGUST 2006 ON FREQUENCY DELETED RECORDS!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------
Anartha was formed in the summer of 2005 when Brendan Quinn (former vocalist of Gandiva and the Hype) and Theo Aronson (former bass player from Catchthirteen, Crash Davis and the Hype), decided to start a band that would bring them back to the roots of their punk and hardcore influences.
Soon Jeff Post, who had played drums in Noah's Dove and the Hype joined the lineup bringing guitarist Shane Brennan (Ghoststory and Noah's dove ) with him. Rounding out the lineup was bass player Brett Valego, former member of All I Can and the K.O.S.T.
Anartha is a 5 piece hardcore project with influences that include Gorilla Biscuits, 108, Shelter, Sick of it All and Minor Threat. Each member has been involved in the Western Mass hardcore and metal scene since the late 80's and 90's, each playing in various bands and going to local shows.
↓ more ↓Their strong ties to this era enabled this group to produce a style of hardcore seldomly heard these days. If you are looking for a band that fits the cookie-cutter mold of today's MTV generation "hardcore"....this is not for you.
Since the release of their 5 song demo (recorded at Dead Air studios in Amherst, MA), Anartha has begun playing shows in the western Massachusetts area. Recently, the band joined forces with Frequency Deleted Records, a new independent label rising up in the Pioneer Valley. Recording for the band's upcoming 6 song CD was recently completed at Underground Productions Recording Studio in Seymour, CT.
Be on the lookout for the release of "Beyond the Voice of Reason" this August on Frequency Deleted Records.

About anartha "Frequency Deleted Records seems to be on a roll this year with their roster of high-powered, emotionally charged post hardcore line-up and Anartha is by no means any exception. While their labelmates, Hands On, seem to be on a more political bent, Anartha aims right for the soul and spirit of the human species itself. Combining hard hitting post-punk hardcore with pounding tribal drums, and the high pitched screaming about the psychology of civilization, Anartha has infinitely more depth and wisdom than your garden variety punk-core band, not to mention some enormous musical weight and talent. I am sure seeing this band live will induce some jaw-dropping shock and awe." (Joel Simches) -Review of 'Beyond the Voice of Reason' from the October issue of 'The Noise'
