Amanda was also honored at Songwriteruniverse.com with "Best Song Of The Month" (April 2006).
This 22 year olds work is no stranger to great reviews. Her debut EP "Tide You Over", was also met with much praise after its release. With guest drummer Rod Morgenstein (Winger, Dixie Dregs) lending his talents, Good Times Magazine said “Perfectly performed, expertly recorded intro effort” and “Give this a listen and skip ‘American Idol’ if you want to hear something with actual soul and feeling.” That EP ranked 13th out of 72,838 artists on CDBABY.com, a feat that also landed her a spot on the sites annual compilation CD.
Amanda was born in Lansing, Michigan. Once a musical theatre kid, she quickly shifted gears after moving to New York City in her teens. She started work as a reference/background vocalist and sometime writer at Zone Studios, New York. She co-wrote and sang pop, rock and dance songs as well as hooks for rap and hip-hop artists. From this experience she progressed to nabbing work in other studios (including Sony Publishing) and soon was fronting an original rock band. This led to live performances at several NYC venues including: The Central Park Band Shell, Acme Underground, Village Underground, Arlene's Grocery, Kenny's Castaways, Bowery Poetry Café, The Orange Bear, Dillon's Cabaret, Don Hills, The Triad, Morningside Park, and 169 Bar.
Currently Amanda performs in NYC while working on material for another release. With buzz already building from MP3 pre-sales on her website www.amandadroste.com, and with amazing musicians and producers adding their talent to the project, Amanda’s next CD will surely be nothing short of phenomenal.
