Bio / Background
I have been playing guitar and writing songs since age 5 or so.I grew up in a family that it seemed everyone played, although It was my dad, uncle and brother that got me interested in music.I loved the guitar and never remember having to really struggle. It seemed to come naturally.I can say that being raised on a farm made finding time to play difficult so I would pic up the guitar anytime I had a moment, even if it was only a moment. Many years have gone by and I still love playing whenever I get the chance to.I mainly spend time out on the road as a tour bus driver for bands,DickeyBetts,Kings X,Kid Rock tour just to name a few.I do play shows as they come and have plans to do some tour dates as they are being planned in 2007 and beyond. The great thing about driving is that I have met so many great players and have the respect of many that I have the great blessing to have sit in with or just jammed with.
↓ more ↓Usually the response is/is that the bus driver!Like I said" I do love it enough to at least hold my own with best of them.Enough of that.Tragically this CD was set to be more of a finished product, plans for more editing, background vocals and retakes on some traxs. Due to the untimely death of it`s main producer Mike Shipley,Most of the tunes wound up being one take Lead guitar and lead vocal in studio. The decision was made on this volume to leave things as they were because I thought I would make this Cd as if it was a day at the track for each song.It is what it is and with the death of Mike on the last lap it was not an option to fill his seat with anyone else.So I guess you could say that {its music thats like a ride down the road of life} and to tell you the truth I am glad to know it feels good to me with some of the imperfections. MOPAR TO YA! If your takin` life by the horns and along for the ride as it happens. So check out, whats behind the making of this CD, Songs like track #2 is about chosing between a love for a car or a woman who doesn`t get it. Richard Petty Blues about a boy so crazy `bout the KING that her eyes are the color of his race car. That thing would fly,A true story about an ol` Desoto as a kid.Roadrunner about a 69 Roadrunner,Just one of 17 that I had in my younger days. All this was created for the love of cars and just plain fun and fun it was and is.Racing,NASCAR,NHRA, motorsports car shows any form of hangin with hot rods is just cool to me, always was and still is. This CD has legs or wheels I should say.Look us up and enjoy.Check out myspace at myspace.com/altackettmopar and get this machine fired up why don`t ya?.When you pay for the music you are putting a smile on a childs face As much of the money will go to Nascar charities. If you have good in your heart I say MO`Par TO YA!Ladies and Gentleman START YOUR ENGINES
