Melodic pop-funk and folk rock with a feel good vibe.
Bio / Background
Growing up in Los Angeles, Alana Gentry was one of those people destined to be a performer. She started singing by the age of four and at seven began dancing and performing throughout the city with a dance company. In high school she was drawn to musical theater and there discovered her love for acting. After high school she continued to study acting and decided to learn to play the guitar. It was then that her life long love of singing came into the forefront and became her chosen vocation.
Alana started writing and playing out solo throughout the Los Angeles club circuit. During that time she met many other musicians with whom she wrote, performed and recorded with and in February 2003 released her second EP-Illuminate. In June 2004 she moved to New York City and continues to write, dance and perform.

REVIEWS
"Alana Gentry is one of the few singer/songwriters performing pop-rock in the Los Angeles area that I wouldn't mind seeing over and over again. Wonderful tunes, lovely melodies, engaging lyrics, original delivery and a band that is not only tight, but knows when to back off and let Alana's unique voice sail over the music."
-Review by SNOOK- Immedia Wire Service
"Much, much cooler was Alana Gentry. A singer/songwriter type who was neither waify nor boring; she was sort of the anti-Jewel or better Sheryl Crow, full of earthy, throaty, weathered vocals and lyrics that rang out like she's lived every verb. She was good-really good.
