Airiel Down's music is energetic, ambient rock. With the band's debut album, Vision, listeners are exposed to a spectrum of sound ranging from warm, acoustic numbers to straight-ahead, in-your-face rock.
Bio / Background
Airiel Down is an energetic, ambient rock band hailing from Raleigh, NC. Powerful guitars, driving rhythms, memorable melodies and insightful lyrics set this band apart. “These guys put a lot of thought and emotion into their music, and it really pays off - both in their recordings and live performance” (Doug Grissom, City of Raleigh Special Events Director).
Airiel Down recently finished recording their debut album, VISION, with engineer/producer John Plymale at the studios of Overdub Lane in Durham, NC. John Plymale has previously worked with artists including the Squirrel Nut Zippers, Meat Puppets, and Superchunk. The album was mastered by engineer Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound in New York, NY. Greg Calbi’s credits include an array of major artist names including The Ramones, Sonic Youth, Lenny Kravitz, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and David Bowie. Since the completion of VISION in May of 2006, the band has been on the road touring in support of the album.
