San Francisco alternative rock--songs filled with crashing guitars, soaring vocals, and driving backbeats
Bio / Background
With every song ADDISON strive to move closer to The Answer. Formed on November 2, 2002 in San Francisco, ADDISON spent three years developing their alternative rock sound before releasing their self-titled debut EP in December 2005. In the summer of 2006 ADDISON released a follow-up, five-song EP: "Michael Killed Fredo". A third EP, "If It Hurts, It's Good," issues on February 6, 2007. ADDISON are Joshua Arce on vocals and rhythm guitar, Luis Baptista on bass with backup vocals, Yoshi Takebuchi on lead guitar, and Tom Antl on drums.
On this third issue, ADDISON have heightened their sound with layered guitars, pulsing low-end, and super-charged vocals. Guitars bookend the sonic swell while the bass carries the message forward on waves of thumping notes. Lead melodies weave over and under forceful, sweeping vocals and color the inside of the frame. The point is driven home by the powerful backbeat upon which each song is built.
↓ more ↓Songs on this EP come from many notches on the storytelling spectrum: the allegorical ("Roanoke"), the pleading ("Sustained"), the quizzical ("Ready for the Break"), and the hopeful ("Boutonniere").
