Bio / Background
Actual Birds is the nom de plume/art/musique of Portland, OR resident Dustin Krcatovich. As of this writing, he has released two full-length albums under this moniker, as well as a handful of EPs, cassettes, reel-to-reel tapes, motivational posters, trading cards, comics, etc. On musical projects, he is frequently assisted by Fred Thomas (Saturday Looks Good To Me, Flashpapr, Fred Thomas); you can usually tell when Thomas is helping, due to the fact that it usually kind of sounds better. Actual Birds’ favorite colors are green and yellow, his favorite food to experience in as many different cities as possible is the burrito, and his current favorite singers are Daniel Johnston, Albert Ayler, Kelly Jean Caldwell, Pharrell Williams, and Exciters lead singer Brenda Reid (utilized to excellent effect in the early '60s girl group hit “Tell Him”).
