Former frontman with South African Rockers "Saint Legend" (Tour support act for Foreigner 1993), now recording with UK Independent label RMS Records (Rich Mr Sax). Debut 4 track EP "The best in me" released April 2007, album expected late 2009.
He was born in Durban, South Africa where growing up in a multi-cultural society surrounded by adventure, warmth, humour, rugby and violence in equal measure has a way of shaping an only child rather uniquely. Lee ventured into the music world very early on, finding his singing voice in front of a packed school hall and forming his first band in 1989. After its inevitable demise he spent a couple of years studying Jazz guitar and practicing his ?moo maa moo's? with Mirium Erasmus and Eve Boswell (Sugar Bush), before joining rock band Saint Legend in 1991. The band enjoyed three relatively successful years gigging up and down their home country, supported legendary international rock bands Indecent Obsession and Foreigner and received a fair amount of airplay as well as appearing on local television. After recording their debut album and on the eve of making their first music video, the band split due to reasons that have very much become the Rock ?n roll clich?.
Lee emigrated to the UK a short time after and busied himself playing in cover bands, before joining popular originals band Minifish as their lead singer. The band managed to score a full page article in the Melody Maker and played gig's in London's Rock Garden, Underworld, The Mean Fiddler and The Orange to name a few, before Lee was again spotted and poached by a German record producer.
Silbersack recordings based in Halle, Saale, Germany, signed Lee to a solo deal towards the end of the 90's. The album was recorded with session musicians, but fate once again intervened and due to a lack of distribution the deal fell through, with the label going into liquidation soon after.
UK independent Rich Mr Sax Records spotted Lee in the summer of 2006 and having made an immediate impression on owner and chief producer Mark Duggan, he was immediately signed and bought into the studio to record his debut 4 track EP. The video for the title track ?The best in me? was filmed in March 2007 and is included on the EP, released April 9th 2007.
Lee is currently working on his debut album, due for release in late 2009.
